But this home you see behind me is our latest acquisition. Again, we’re here in the Virginia Beach area. I want to take you on a quick walkthrough video, kind of an initial walkthrough before we do any rehab like we do on for many of our homes.

All right, here’s another quick shot of the home from the outside. You can see it’s very overgrown. Probably the biggest challenge we’re going to have here is landscaping, but it is a nice yard. Just needs to be trimmed up, cleaned up.
The outside of the house is in pretty good shape. Roof is new. We’ll obviously replace all the gutters. The brown trim on the house will be changed to white and we’ll remain with the white siding. Probably go with black shutters and a new front door, painted black. Let’s take a step inside.
So this house is very similar to the last house we did. As far as when you go into the entry, all the bedrooms are off to the left and the living space is off to the right.
So here’s the living room. We’re going to remove all this tile of course. We’ll use luxury vinyl plank flooring throughout the entire house. Just like we do in all of our homes. This one, however, we may go ahead and put carpet in the bedrooms, it’s still to be determined, but that’s likely what we’ll do.
It’s got a nice front window here, it let’s in a lot of light. All these windows are vinyl replacement windows. They have been replaced fairly recently so we’ll not need to replace those.
The kitchen’s already been opened up. We will redo the kitchen but we’re not going to make any changes to the layout. It’ll be exactly as it is now. Just new countertops, new cabinets, new appliances, but pretty much in the same configuration or at least that’s the plan for now. Anything can change.
Again, all this tile will be removed. We’ll replace the cabinetry there. It’s got a nice little eat-in kitchen/dining area. We’ll replace that fan with a light fixture. The ceiling already has can lights in it. We’ll replace those with more modern LED white can lights, but they’re there. So we’ll reuse those also a couple of can lights over the bar area here. So everything is where it needs to be. We’re just going to freshen it all up and redo it.
This is the laundry room, got the washing and dryer here. The water heater is a newer water heater so that’ll stay. So again, nothing to do in this room except remove the shelving unit and just clean it up and repaint.
Here’s the garage, might be a little hard to see, but obviously just like the last house we did. If you remember our Forest Glen house, actually it may have been the one prior to that, anyway, very similar garage. So we’ll clean up the garage, fill all the holes, repaint everything, go ahead and drywall this wall, which currently is not dry walled, and just make this a nice clean space.
It does have a garage door opener which works. So we’ll save that. I believe we’re going to be able to reuse the door garage door as well.
So let’s take a look at the rest of the house. Again, this house, outside of a cleaning out isn’t going to need a tremendous amount. All the doors can be reused, will just put on new hinges and knobs. Everything will be repainted white. See, this is the entry closet here. Again, everything that’s here is not wanted by the homeowner. So we’ll take care of the disposal of that. Either giving it away or disposing of it.
This is bedroom number one, again in pretty easy shape. We’ll repaint. Fix any drywall issues, repaint the closet, replace the carpet.
Bedroom number two, this is a three bed, two bath home. Again, nice double closet here. New windows, two windows in this particular room. New carpet and paint is all that’s needed here. There is a nice pantry right here outside of the main bath it’s in good shape. So again, that’ll just be cleaned up.
This is the bathroom. We will pretty much gut this. Take out all the tile. We may or may not leave the window. It has not been fully decided. But there is siding if we need to remove that window, we can do that. There’s extra siding here on site. The bathtub will be removed. All the fixtures will be removed. The flooring will be removed and then all of this will be done new just like the ones that we do in all of our homes.
If you seen our previous videos, you know kind of the tile we use and what that’s going to look like. And this is the on-suite. So much larger room, again, just clean up all the drywall and repaint. It’s got a nice walk-in closet here. So quite a bit of space and a full bath here off the bedroom. So we’ll replace the toilet and the sink. Repaint and repair all the walls in here.
This particular shower has been recently redone. This is all fairly new tile. It’s not what we typically do, but it looks nice. So I suspect, and this again, can change, but I suspect we may leave this. Maybe just put a new glass door on here, something a little more modern looking, and this probably will stay just the way it is.
Do a quick glance to the backyard and then you’ll have a chance to see everything again. As we progress on this house, we’ll do update videos for those who like to kind of watch and see how they transform. You’ll get a chance to see that.
It’s got a pretty good-sized backyard. Very overgrown, definitely going to do some work back here to get it ready. A couple of outbuildings. There’s a nice sizable outbuilding right here that’s in pretty good shape. So again, we’ll just paint the door, clean that up, and that’s a nice storage space for this yard. But as you can see, it’s pretty overgrown so the landscaper’s going to have some work to do. There’s also a small shed here that’s in relatively good condition that I suspect we’ll leave as we always do. Probably just paint it, but the siding’s in good shape. So very little work to do on the house from a sliding perspective, just have it all power washed.
The homeowner had done some work before. Where this window is right here used to be a sliding glass door that came out onto this patio. You’ll recall the last house we did. We removed the window, put a sliding glass door back in there. She took it out. Actually, I stand corrected. It’s this window that used to have the sliding glass door, but it does give a little more wall space inside. It isn’t really necessary. So I think we’re going to leave it as it is. And then just clean up this patio area out here just for some outdoor space.
